Idaelia Preciado believes that education can transform communities. The third of four children, Idaelia grew up in Los Angeles where she began to practice her faith, find her voice, and develop a passion for young people.
She graduated from California State University, Northridge with a BA in Child and Adolescent Development. Throughout her high school and college years, she worked along the Salesians of St. John Bosco and began her work in her community. She was heavily involved in Youth Ministry and Confirmation at her parish. She also volunteered at the local Boys and Girls Club by tutoring other students and would even help with summer camp.
After working in the Los Angeles area within the public and charter schools, she now resides on the central coast, where she taught at La Purisima ConcepciĆ³n Catholic School. She has served as a combo classroom teacher and the Religious Activities Coordinator. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Masters in Educational Policy & Administration and aspires to use her talents and skills for the service of others. Her parents have instilled in her the value of work and education, and her faith drew her to stay and work in Catholic schools.
