Gabriel Reyes

Gabriel Reyes resides in Whittier where he grew up and attended school most of his life until attending Architecture school in Monterey Park. Gabriel discerned a different career path, responding to a calling to serve others, he began working in full time parish ministry in 2005. Gabriel earned a degree in Psychology and Christian counseling. The desire to pursue and grow in leadership led to earning a masters degree in Executive Leadership from Liberty University. Gabriel has worked in various capacities in the Diocese of Orange, Diocese of San Bernardino and Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He has been a passionate leader in youth ministry and has had various roles in catechetical leadership, sacramental preparation and music. To this day he remains active in music ministry, leading music at Masses and on retreats throughout the Archdiocese and beyond. 

Gabriel started his teaching journey at St. Bernard’s High School and eventually left full time parish ministry. His experience and passion to help others led him to various opportunities to be a leader outside of the classroom. Gabriel later joined St. Pius X - St. Matthias Academy and has been a Theology teacher and leader there for 5 years. The con going discernment and pursuit of leadership in Catholic Education was strengthened by his roles as Dean of Campus Ministry, Christian service coordinator, music ministry coordinator and coach. Gabriel and his wife Grace were married in 2022 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels.
